Pandemic Associated Pressures for New World Skills: Time to Use Your Educational Benefits?

April 12, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The coronavirus pandemic has placed extraordinary demands on leaders in the healthcare industry and beyond with rapidly changing work environment, turnover of workforce (era of resignations), etc. The pandemic also changed the mode of the delivery of healthcare in the US and around the world. These challenges changed the demand for skills and competencies with many professionals looking into their educational benefits to get additional training to meet the demands of rapidly evolving work environments.

We are witnessing increased demands for telehealth services, growing number of job opportunities for healthcare providers and managers, as well as increasing demands and pressures to improve healthcare operations and planning. The pandemic demonstrated that leaders in healthcare need to better understand the healthcare data, especially when it came to rapidly changing COVID morbidity, mortality, and disease management data.

The focus of this presentation will be the overview of skills needed to be successful in healthcare environment leadership, as well as degree offerings in the Department of Health Administration and Public health Duquesne University, such as MHA Program and Data Analytics microcredential, that could help employees to gain skills necessary to be successful in today’s environment. The need for educational benefits to meet the growing demands of the workforce will be reviewed.
