PBGH Diabetes Management Workshop

Did you know that more than 38 million Americans have diabetes? It is estimated that 95 percent of them have type 2 diabetes. In 2022, that resulted in $106.3 billion in lost productivity for employers.

David Hines, who serves as Executive Director of Employee Benefits for Metro-Nashville Public Schools, developed and deployed a strategy to alleviate this growing concern! This strategy leveraged clinical data and tools to:

  • Help employees live healthier lives
  • Improve diabetes outcomes
  • Reduce the employer’s costs

Recently, PBGH hosted a Diabetes Management Workshop with Hines, where he gave a presentation that provided a detailed roadmap on how employers can take action for their workforce. Part of Hines’s strategy included implementing Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs). These provide ongoing valuable insights to help employees manage their diabetes.
