Did you know that HPV-associated cancers could be eradicated? And yet HPV causes about 37,300 new cases of cancer each year.
There is a safe and effective vaccine available that prevents six different cancers associated with HPV. The HPV vaccine is covered by benefits and the “Vaccines for Children Program.” Kids as young as 9 years old can receive this series of shots, as well as adults through the age of 45.
PBGH and the PBGH Prevention Task Force-HPV Initiative support this letter from the Pennsylvania Cancer Coalition. As employers and benefit providers, we need to address this public health issue. Find the call to actions and resources in the letter. For more information, visit https://www.pacancercoalition.org/workgroups-and-subcommittees/hpv-hpb .
