2021 Health Equity Series

On Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021, the PBGH Health & Business Institute in conjunction with the Highmark Foundation, hosted a free, public webinar series aimed at driving awareness of the acute racial divide in the care pregnant black women receive in our region compared to white women and the impact that chasm has on maternal and newborn death in black and brown communities.

Based off of the findings of the City of Pittsburgh’s 2019 Gender Equity Committee Report, this 3-part series will dive deep into the implications, realities and repercussions of health inequality here in Pittsburgh and around the country.
