Each year, PBGH recognizes a chief executive officer from the region for their support and vision in driving strategies to improve the health of their employees. “Mr. O’Brien has consistently demonstrated active involvement in strategies to improve the health of his organization and has served as a role model for other CEOs across Western Pennsylvania interested in improving healthcare,” said Jessica Brooks, CEO & Executive Director of PBGH – the region’s leading employer-led coalition designed to drive transparency in health care data, cost and quality.
Peoples Natural Gas is an employer member of PBGH and is the largest natural gas distribution company in Pennsylvania, providing reliable, low cost natural gas service to approximately 700,000 customers in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky.
According to Brooks, O’Brien engages in and cultivates a culture of health at Peoples Natural Gas, particularly by making healthcare a strategic business priority for the company, its employees and the regional community.
“Mr. O’Brien is an active and engaged catalyst for change – leading the charge to engage other executives across the region about the rising cost of healthcare and what their companies and leaders can and should do about it, said Brooks.
