National Alliance publishes results of Social Determinants of Health study

The National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions recently published their results of a yearlong collaborative study regarding social determinants of health, health equity, and racial bias. The project included Pittsburgh Business Group on Health and Kentuckiana Health Collaborative, along with six of their employer members.  Participants determined action plans that focused on one or more of the social determinants affecting their workforce. The study’s main conclusions included the importance of gathering community data to determine the issues that your workforce is facing and developing a team to execute an action plan.
