The overturning of Roe v. Wade is a dramatic shift in our healthcare ecosystem. The implications are far-reaching and the full impact will likely not be known for years to come.

Since the release of the 2019 Report from Pittsburgh’s Gender Equity Commission, The Pittsburgh Business Group on Health has made it a stated mission to help employers take decisive action to eliminate maternal and child health inequity.

With the potential for diminished family planning, the existing disparities are at risk of expanding and intensifying.

Despite these risks, we at The Pittsburgh Business Group on Health, believe that education and resources available now and those that we are developing with our partners (Heinz Endowment, Highmark Foundation) will continue to empower this community to close those equity gaps.

We will continue, as we always have, to work with our employer members and our communities to be Stewards of our employees, their health, and their families’ health.
